Musician Zachary “Status” Young has been writing and recording music for over 15 years. Hailing from Colorado – Status proudly represents his half Italian/half Irish heritage with brooding tales about growing up in the predominantly Latino/Catholic North-side of Denver. With writing and production credits on over fifteen projects released digitally worldwide, Status has proven time and time again that his unique blend of Hardcore Hip-Hop and Rock influenced production sets his music apart from his peers. Many local and national publications (such as Hiphoplead.com, Colorado Music Buzz, Westword Magazine and Image Magazine), have praised Status for his unique and often genre bending production and song writing. With feet planted firmly in both Hip-Hop and Rock music, Status has continuously garnered fans from both the “backpacker crowd” and the “metal/punk scene.” People describe his music as aggressive and hard hitting, brash and creative. Status and his crew (Cadava) have gained fans rocking shows with such Hip-Hop heavy weights as Immortal Technique, Guru of Gangstarr, Jedi Mind Tricks, Tech 9, Gza & Rza of Wu-Tang Clan, Everlast, Psycho Realm, Mack 10, Beatnuts, Swollen Members, Sean P, Too Short, and Ill Bill (to name a few). As the year 2013 progresses, Zachary “Status” Young is pleased to release his next Record - Zapruder Soundtrack - worldwide online! Zapruder Soundtrack is an 18 track album written, performed, produced and mixed by Zachary “Status” Young. Status played the guitars, bass and keyboards on the record - in addition to handling all the drum programming and sequencing. The beats on the album were arranged entirely on the Akai MPC, leaving no doubt that Status’s Hip-Hop roots remain intact. The record pays homage to the many influences that shaped Status’s musical tastes over the years. The Punk Rock styles of The Ramones, Iggy Pop, Black Flag, Misfits and Rancid lend heavily to songs such as “Feed Us Our Devil,” “Zapruder!,” and “Shits Here to Stay.” The influence of Rap/Rock bands Body Count, Everlast and System of a Down are evident in the tracks “Better Let Em’ Know” and “The Way the Music Died.” Heavier acts Rob Zombie and Pantera fueled Status to record the more thrash driven songs “North North” and “Drop Down Needle;” while Hip-Hop greats such as Guru, M.O.P. and Ice Cube kept the MC in Status alive as showcased in the songs “I’d be the 1” and “Graveman.” It is no secret that this album is a direct throwback to much of the diverse musical styles Status grew up on over the years and Zapruder Soundtrack embraces its eclectic flavor from start to finish. Zapruder Soundtrack is like no other Hip-Hop Hybrid record ever produced. Listen to this record and you will find there is nothing phony or contrived about the content. Status’s love and respect for music shines throughout so don’t sleep on the Zapruder Soundtrack!
